The short version
Soledger does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There is no Soledger account, there are no Soledger servers, and the app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs. Everything you enter — shoes, prices, run assignments — stays on your iPhone.
If that's all you wanted to know, you can stop reading here. The rest of this document spells out the same thing in the language Apple and lawyers expect.
What Soledger collects
About you, personally: nothing. Soledger does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, location, or any account credentials. There is no sign-up step.
About your activity inside the app: nothing is sent off-device. The app records the shoes and runs you choose to log, locally, in order to function.
The information that lives on your device while you use Soledger includes:
- Shoes you've added — brand, model, purchase price, expected lifetime, and retire status.
- Run assignments — which workouts from Apple Health you've associated with which pair of shoes.
- App preferences — units (miles vs. kilometers), default lifetime, dark mode setting.
This data is created by you, stored by your device, and never transmitted to us or to any third party by Soledger.
Apple Health (HealthKit) data
To work, Soledger requests read-only access to running workouts in Apple Health. You grant or deny this access using the standard iOS permission prompt the first time you open the app, and you can change it at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Soledger.
From HealthKit, Soledger reads:
- Workout type, start and end time, duration, distance, and energy burned, for workouts whose type indicates running.
- Workout source name (e.g. “Apple Watch”, “Strava”), so the app can show which app or device recorded the run.
Soledger does not request access to heart rate, location, weight, body measurements, sleep, menstrual data, or any other Health data type. Soledger does not write any data back to Apple Health.
HealthKit data is never transmitted off your device by Soledger. In compliance with Apple's HealthKit terms, Soledger does not use any HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, or similar services, and does not share or sell HealthKit data to or with any third party.
Where data is stored
All Soledger data is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework and the standard iOS app sandbox. If you have iCloud Backup enabled for your device, your Soledger data may be included in your encrypted iCloud Backup — that is governed by Apple's privacy practices, not ours. Soledger does not run any cloud sync of its own.
If you delete the Soledger app from your device, all of its locally-stored data is deleted along with it. Any data Soledger had read from Apple Health remains in Apple Health, untouched.
Third parties
Soledger does not integrate any third-party analytics, attribution, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs.
The only first-party services involved are Apple's: the App Store handles distribution and purchase, and HealthKit provides workout data. Apple's privacy practices for those services are described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children
Soledger is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, because — as described above — we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Your rights & deletion
Because Soledger does not collect or transmit personal data, there is no Soledger-side dataset to access, port, or request deletion of. You have complete control over the data you have entered into the app:
- View: open the app.
- Export: use the in-app CSV export to take your shoe and run history with you.
- Delete: remove individual shoes or runs inside the app, or delete the app to remove all locally-stored Soledger data.
- Revoke HealthKit access: Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Soledger.
If you are a resident of a jurisdiction with specific data-protection rights (for example, the EU's GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), the above mechanisms are the means by which you exercise those rights with respect to Soledger.
Changes to this policy
If we change this Privacy Policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, if the change is material, surface a notice inside the app the next time you open it. The latest version is always available at this URL.
